Children who have never played hockey before can experience the game firsthand on Saturday, courtesy of USA Hockey.
Try Hockey For Free Day, part of the seventh annual Come Play Hockey Month, will include free skating and scoring drills for kids ages 4-9 at more than 450 participating sites throughout the United States. Forty-seven of the 50 states will be represented.

The Try Hockey For Free initiative, along with the support from the NHL, was designed to provide a platform to introduce children to hockey, free of charge. Each host rink will provide children with equipment and no experience is needed to attend.
Try Hockey For Free Days have allowed more than 142,000 children to try the sport, taking place in Come Play Hockey Month, which provides children of all background the opportunity to play hockey.
The U.S.-based NHL teams, players and alumni will support Come Play Hockey Month with various activities, including the USA Hockey Sled Classic (Nov. 16-19 at Plymouth Ice Center in Plymouth, Minnesota).
