Pekka Rinne was the No. 1 star of the game and No. 1 in the hearts of Nashville Predators fans after he earned his 300th win on Thursday and couldn't hold back the tears.

The Predators goalie reached the milestone with 33 saves in Nashville's 7-1 win against the San Jose Sharks. He became the 34th goalie in NHL history to reach the mark.
When he came back out onto the ice to do his postgame interview to thunderous applause from the crowd at Bridgestone Arena, he had to collect himself before he could give any answers.
"I'm sorry," Rinne said. "I get emotional. I've been fortunate to be here for a long time with good teams and it's a lot of wins and a lot of hockey. You guys have been a big part of it. Thank you."
Nashville selected Rinne in the eighth round (No. 258) of the 2004 NHL Draft, and he's played 551 games in 12 seasons with the Predators. Rinne's 300 wins account for 41.5 percent of the franchise's total wins (723).
