Bryce Harper, the 2015 National League MVP and a five-time MLB All-Star, dropped the ceremonial first puck before the Vegas Golden Knights took on the Washington Capitals.
Harper was an appropriate choice. He was born in Las Vegas but plays for the Washington Nationals. Alex Ovechkin and James Neal took the face-off.
The Washington Nationals star outfielder wore an Alex Tuch jersey and black hat with a "W" embroidered on the front. Tuch scored the Golden Knights first goal of the game.
