The San Jose Sharks had some special guests drop the ceremonial first puck before Thursday night's game.

Danny McHale, a 17-year-old special needs teen and his companion dog, Lake, did the honors before the Sharks took on the Vancouver Canucks at SAP Center. The duo was acoompanied by Danny's mother Mary.
Danny and Lake were representing
Canine Companions for Independence
, a non-profit organization that has provided assistant dogs free of charge to those in need since 1975. They were on hand to celebrate the Sharks Foundation's $50,000 grant to the organization.
Sharks captain Joe Pavelski and Canucks captain Henrik Sedin took the face-off from Lake, who got a huge ovation for his effort.
